Have you ever wondered why a writer uses the words they do? Have you ever been bored to death with one story, but read another story that you just couldn't put down?! Well one of the reasons for these questions is that writers use different tools to show what is happening in a story or poem. There are many different types of tools, but there is one word that they can all be placed under. This word is Figurative Language. One type of figurative language is a simile.
